Mechanical Pencils With Extendable Erasers

A lot of people seem to like a big eraser on their mechanical pencil, so here’s a list of mechanical pencils with large erasers. How big is large? I’ve decided that any eraser that is extendable will qualify, irrespective of its cross-section, diameter or length; and that’s it. Extendable or nothing. I’ll update this list as I become aware of new pencils. No promises, but I will try and remove pencils from the list if they are discontinued by the manufacturer. Please let me know of any currently available mechanical pencils with extendable eraser, along with the relevant details. Discontinued pencils don't count. I am not going to include details of the eraser composition, the length you can extend it out, etc as this list is just a starting point for folk to do their own research.
All are round cross-section erasers using a twist out mechanism unless otherwise noted.

What about erasers only? I have a Mono 'Knock' 3.8 that is a mechanical eraser, in the style of a mechanical pencil, fancy little thing actually. Let me know if you want a picture or maybe I can mail one.

Hi Tim
Well for the moment its only pencils with erasers, not stick erasers. The people who contact me want a combined pencil/eraser because they only want to carry the one thing around.

I've got a Mono somewhere I think.

Hi Dave,

Sorry I missed getting this to you. I somehow skipped by your original request.

I believe I have at least one addition to your list. As you know I've been using twist erasers on my mps for many years and am very happy with them. I've only ever had one chip slightly, and it still works perfectly.

"Staedtler 9505 0.5mm Pencil"

I don't know if this is similar to the Integrity model or not.

As well, the my Papermate Apex, that you list in the larger size eraser category, in fact has the smaller size twist eraser, a very nicely designed one at that. The eraser mechanism is not interchangeable with my ProTouch mps though ( like the Staedler erasers are ) so I only bought the one.

Thanks for the list!

Thanks Glen. Moved Apex and clarified that 9505 = Integrity.

Hi, anyone still owns a Tombow Spino? It was among the earlier mech pencils with extendable erasers.

Hi,
Thanks for your great reviews, and posting this list. It's just what I was looking for.

What are people's favorites? The Staedtler Triplus Micro looks good. But is there something better, like a Graphgear 1000 with a longer erase?

Hi all,

I am a huge fan of mechanical pencils with small diamter twist out erasers. I already have two, the PaperMate Technician II 0.7mm and the Koh-I-Noor Profi Mephisto 0.5mm (the later of which is sadly missing from this list). Until a month ago when I discovered that there are pencils with lead diameters smaller than 0.5mm, I thought that my Koh-I-Noor was the greatest pencil in the world. So, I am trying to find a pencil with a twist out eraser and lead diameter less than 0.5mm. I feel like I have searched everywhere, without luck.

So, does anyone know of a mechanical pencil (preferably drafting style) with a 0.3mm or 0.4mm lead diamter pencil and with the small diameter twist out eraser?

Thanks.

Hi all,

One pencil that is missing from the smaller diameter extendable eraser is the Koh-I-Noor Mephisto Profi, available in 0.7mm and 0.5mm. It is a great pencil and one of my favorites.

Does anyone know of a pencil with an extendable eraser with 0.3mm or 0.4mm lead diameter other than the F-C tk-fine vario L?
